Failed

I had one job to do this morning and I failed. I am really embarrassed to admit this, but I NEVER make Justin lunch. (I also never iron his shirts. Mean huh?) So I promised him I would start making him lunches because his idea for lunches was getting too expensive and very unhealthy. Actually what really happened is I was sitting at the park eating lunch with my friends when I got this text. It said I am going to pay Ben (coworker) 15 dollars a week to make me lunch. WHAT? seriously I was laughing so hard. A. you are lazy B. I have two hands you know? not to mention I am your WIFE. isnt that my responsibility? Today was the day I was going to start. I was even going to be an easy baby steps one, no getting up early to making a sandwich or anything just put yummy leftovers in the sack from last nights dinner. I can do that right? Wrong I TOTALLY forgot. I suck at this wife responsiblity crap. Oh well tomorrrows another day right? I am going to put a sticky note on my forehead so when I wake up and look in the mirror it is going to say LUNCH backwards. So I am asking all you wonderful wives who clean, cook, and look fantastic all the time. what do you make your husband for lunch?

this makes me laugh. i have never, nor will i ever, make my husband's lunches. and i don't iron either. so you're already way ahead of me. it's a good day for me if the house is at least half picked up once he gets home. so i'm definitely NOT the wife to talk to when it comes to being perfect :)
p.s. if you go back to my post on my blog, i put the link up to the post where i talked about what happened after i had krew. go back to the letter "o" and just click on where i typed "when i almost died after i had krew." it should take you to the story. and don't worry - everything is fine now :)

I'm not super-wife either. I don't think I've ironed one time since we've been married.

I have started making Chad lunch because his alternative is not to eat anything at all. It will be 8:00 pm and he will have had nothing to eat. That he eats too much late at night. I decided I needed to make his lunch to help. I too usually try the easy route of sending him with leftovers.

Now the problem is he is HORRIBLE at remembering to take the lunch I took the time to prepare. Now I try to put his keys with his lunch in the fridge the night before that way he can't leave without remembering to take his food. Nothing makes me more mad then when I make him lunch and it goes to waste!

I RARELY make Kipp's lunches, if it makes you feel any better. I don't iron either (although I probably would if I had an ironing board... I DO have an iron). Kipp actually makes his own lunches most mornings, and sometimes he goes to work with wrinkly shirts. Oh well. I know you aren't asking me (because I am NOT one of those wives who always cooks, cleans, and looks fantastic all the time), but I usually send Kipp with leftovers (I try to put a lunch size portion in a container the night before... it is his responsibility to take it out of the fridge and pack it for himself in the morning). In the summertime we sometimes meet at the park at lunchtime, and I'll bring him lunch then. Usually just a sandwich, drink, apple, string cheese, fruit snacks (you know, the same things you might pack for a kid, ha ha!), but if I am feeling really lazy I just stop and get some Taco Bell on the way. Ha ha! Honestly, you won't see me getting up before he goes into work in the morning to make his lunch. Fortunately, Kipp really doesn't care or expect me to do it (nor does he expect me to iron his shirts). I'm guessing Justin thinks you are a fabulous wife, lunch or not! Don't be too hard on yourself!

Ha ha! Wish I had some advice for you, but I am sitting here at 6:00 pm in scrubby clothes, no makeup, etc. Cameron typically irons his own shirts, and it is a good week if I make a homemade meal 3 times. :) I am sure you are a GREAT wife...give yourself some credit!

My only wifely duty is....putting out. The other stuff, Aaron can do on his own. hahahaha. BUT if I WERE to make lunch, egg salad sandwiches are always good. egg salad lasts in the fridge for a few days, so hub could throw some on some bread before he leaves in the morning..
I'm a big fan of pb&j...aaron likes those premade packages of smuckers uncrustables..EASY!
You crack me up! That's sweet of you!

Weid read this post and said that we have lots in common. He takes a loaf of bread and the entire containers of peanut butter and jam and makes his own every day. I tried to make his lunches, but that didn't last very long. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

Maybe you should have Justin pay you $15 to make his lunches! I know he and Ruthie and Naomi would agree that they are lucky to have a wife and mom just like you.
