Jinxed

Thursday at Ruthie's appointment the doctor was talking about how healthy Ruthie has been. I think he was surprised that we haven't been in the hospital with some sort of illness. He said you must not have her around a lot of sick kids. I was so proud. I felt like a good mother. Well guess what doc?! You jinxed us! The very next night Ruthie had a high fever and runny nose. Poor kid she looks pretty miserable. On top of feeling miserable, she has taken quite a few spills since learning to walk so she looks a little pitiful too. She has two scratches on her forehead and a HUGE bruise on her cheek. We call her bruiser after the jazz player Boozer.
I don't really know what to do. I have been giving her medicine like tylenol and ibuprofen. This helps a ton but as soon as its out of her system you can tell. She won't let me put her down and goodbye to sleeping. I am hoping its just teeth and will pass. So any mothers out there with some good remedies let me know. And when do I know when I should take her to the Doc? So many worries as a mom....

10 Month Check up

Ruthie turned 10 months yesterday! For her ten month birthday we bought her these cute little white shoes. Well we actually bought them because now that she can walk she should probably own some shoes. They are a little big but her feet grow so fast. We bought her some three weeks ago and they are already too small. Here is the picture of her cute little shoes.

This morning we went to go see our doctor. Today was a happy visit because she didn't have to get any shots! Justin was also able to come with me and everything is better when daddy is with us. They did have to prick her foot for some blood to check her iron which turned out fine. The nurse put a little band aid on it and later on during the appointment Ruthie stuck her toe in her mouth and bit the band aid right off. It was pretty funny. He said she is growing normally. She is still skinny about 17 pounds and 7 oz which is the 15th percentile but he is not worried. She is average on height and head circumference. Now we don't have to go back until she is 15 months old. Yeah!

I think Justin is trying to train Ruthie to be a gymnast. Look at this little game he taught her. Its kind of dark sorry if you can't see. You can try adjusting the brightness on your computer. if you can't see what is happening, he set Ruthie on the edge of the couch and blankets on the floor. Yep, he taught her to throw herself into them. I think he is preparing her to not be afraid to jump into the gymnastic pits. Are most 10 month old's this bold? Should I be worried that I am going to be in and out of the emergency room with stitches and broken bones? She does love it though just look at that smile. She knows she just did a pretty cool trick.

Is this a joke?

Last night Justin and I finally cleaned our disaster of a room. It was terrible. I would have taken picture but that would have been too embarrassing. We had piles of clothes everywhere. Anyways I decided that since it has been so warm that it was time to pack away the winter clothes so I could have room in my closet. Well guess what I saw this morning when I woke up? Yes, snow. Is this some kind of sick joke? It was sooo warm last week and I was so excited for sunshine.
I have to share this story about Justin. I think it is hilarious but most you will probably find it lame. Justin and I decided to go to a yummy pizza place by our house called The Pie. We ordered our usual caesar salad and cheesy pull aparts. Everything was so delicious and I was excited to see that we had leftovers. We started to walk out to the car and noticed Ruthie's binky was missing. I ran back in to go get it while Justin took the leftovers and Ruthie out to the car. We were right by Walmart and decided to get some things that we needed. We also like to take Ruthie to play with all the toys. we get our things and head back to the car. Once in the car I noticed the leftovers weren't there. I asked Justin and he remembered putting them on TOP of the car. Needless to say, they were not there anymore. We lost them sometime between the parking lot of the restaurant and walmart. That must have been a funny sight for other drivers. I myself did not like losing yummy leftovers but still had a good laugh about it.

Little Buddies

This is Ruthie's little buddy Ian. He is only a little over a month younger than Ruthie. Ian lives in the same apartment complex as us and is in our ward. We love to hang out with him and his mom at the playground. Yesterday was such a nice day to be outside. The kids loved it. And Ian was kind enough to bring some toys to share. This is such a fun age because they are starting to interact a little. They will smile and laugh at each other. They even handed toys back and forth to each other. Well, maybe that only happened twice and it was usually Ian sharing with Ruthie . We hope that if we have them play a lot together now that by the time they are two they will be really good at sharing. Maybe we can skip the whole MINE phase. I love the last picture. It looks like they are cuddling! Don't you think these two are too cute together? We are so lucky to have them in our ward and complex.

On the move

Yesterday we went to the park after dinner. Ruthie loves to be outside. She also likes the slide. Although in this video it looks like she hates it. She usually gets really excited and kicks her legs. It's still cute and it cracks me up the little system Justin has to take her back up to the top for another slide down.

Sunday we hit a milestone. Ruthie is taking more than 2 steps now. She can almost go across the whole room before falling. We have been trying to get it on video but its really hard to get the camera before she's down. Yesterday at the park we got her walking a little. I can't believe my little girl is getting so big. I look at her and she is looking more and more like a toddler. And I can't believe in about two months she will be one! Where has time gone? I feel like I don't cherish the moments of her being a baby enough. I can't hug and kiss her enough. She is my little sunshine and I absolutely adore her!

Vegas Vacation

its a long post....
Last Wednesday was Justin's last day at his old job. We decided that was a perfect amount of time to take a little trip to Vegas before he started his new job Monday. It was so much fun. I can't wait to go back.
On Thursday we went to the Park at Towns square and went to yorgurtland. It is delicious! All of you Las Vegans who haven't gone need to go there. Its by old navy and right across from H&M. Later on that night we went to Justin's house and Ruthie was being such a ham. She loves her Aunt Haley. Haley had her laughing so hard. It was precious!
Then on Friday we went to some museums. Poor Ruthie fell asleep at one. And whenever we go to these museums my mom always treats us to popsicles from Anderson dairy. Later on that night we went to Jodi's to catch up on 24 and eat cafe rio.

Saturday morning we went to eat at the original pancake house with Justin's family. This is probably the best breakfast joint ever! Ruthie fell asleep on the way back to Justin's house so we decided to let Grandma babysit while we went to go get the car smogged and an oil change. It had been over a year.. umm dont ever wait that long to do an oil change. That night we had a delicous bbq at my parents house. I am so excited for summer to come for the warm air, swimming and bbqs! That's Livin!
sorry for the long post but it was an awesome weekend. we love visiting family and are already counting the days till we go back! we love and miss you guys.

Any Ideas?

Lately I have been thinking about things that I can do to make a little extra money. Justin is supporting us and we have the things we need. Its not that we really need it. I just want to have my own little income. There are some things I have my eye on that I want to buy with money that I earned. Its weird I know. Its just something I want to do. So if anyone has any ideas on how I can make a little extra money from home I would love to hear them!

If it doesn't get all over the place....

It doesn't belong in your face! Man this girl can make a mess when she is eating... just look at that face. She always seems to be the messiest right after I give her baths. I find food everywhere. Places like the back of her head and even in her ear. How is that even possible? Lets just say eating around here is full of excitement!
